What is Anime? (aka "Japanimation," short for Japanese animation)
Japanese animation is a sophisticated combination of complexly well-written stories and gorgeous graphics. The stories run the gamut from comedy, action/adventure, and science fiction to horror, romance, and mystery.

Who enjoys Anime?
Japanese animation fans are a varied bunch. Many are science fiction enthusiasts or comic book fans. Some are role playing gamers, Star Trek fans, video gamers, or action fanatics. Yet another segment of Japanese animation fans consists of college students and young adults into the "alternative" scene. But what they all have in common is a love for the clever plots and striking artwork which make Japanese animation the growing market it is today.

The Networks and Cable television is finally catching on with anime appearing regularly on FOX, WB, TBS, TNT, MTV, The Cartoon Network, The Sci-Fi Channel, The Movie Channel, and more! Also, many art houses and independent cinemas are hosting Japanese animation film festivals
